Does anyone else like that GE coal mining commercial? |
|
http://www.adrants.com.nyud.net:8090/images/ge_mine_hottie_3.jpgI know it's wrong (in a lot of ways), but that one really works for me...

1. I HATE that commercial |
|
They're trying to make coal sexy. Anybody know a REAL coal miner that looks like that?

My brother was over tonight, and we must have seen that commercial ten times. Now, he's younger than me, and single. He was glued to the TV. I made a comment about it once, so after that, if I was away from the TV, he would say "Your favorite commercial is coming on, Sis!"

They were counting on that. I guess the number of men drooling over that commercial will outnumber the women who are outraged.

6. Why would women be enraged? |
|
Wasn't there a good looking shirtless guy...somewhere...briefly...in the background maybe? (just kidding...) Personally, I would expect most outrage to stem from the misrepresentation of miners/mining in general, and the wildly inappropriate song.
Were you watching Leno by any chance? That's where I saw it.

8. No, I wasn;t watching Leno |
|
Women should be outraged at the obvious exploitation of the female body. Even if there was one shirtless guy, big woop-de-doo! How many women were there?
The song is a good one, but really, were the women loading sixteen tons of anything? They didn't look another day older OR deeper in debt.

9. My outrage comes from the fact that they are glorifying this industry... |
|
...by mesmerizing everyone with some tits and ass, while these f**kers are polluting our environment. But if you can zone everyone out with some T and A, no one cares about what this industry is actually doing. And then the added insult, is that GE tries to tell us that they are really concerned about the environment. Pure corporate propaganda..:puke:

It comes from years of living around rethuglicans. They have a short attention span, so you have to make the point quickly.

7. I think it is an affront to Coal Miners, Union Workers |
|
and ordinary people who toil and struggle to eek out a living while these art directors and HGTV graduates position "model" in dirty costumes to make the whole process "neat".....
And then on top of that, they use an old coal miners cry against the company as the background music for all of this.....
GE is controled by the anti christ......
