I was born in North Carolina while Jim Blanchard governed Michigan.

I think Jim Martin was governor of NC, but it might have been Jim Hunt.

What? You don't know who was governor of your state? Go to Wikipedia and search "List of Governors of {your home state}"

1. Preston Smith...
I was born in Texas in 1970 when Preston was gov. He's the one responsible for all the "Drive Friendly" signs on Texas highways.

You can probably guess the state just by the name. :eyes: (But my state of birth did also give our nation one of greatest presidents of the 20th century.)

4. William W. Scranton of Pennsylvania
His son might run for governor next year on the repuke ticket but will have a tough fight against former WR Lynn Swann.

But I think Fast Eddie has the race sewn up for 2006

5. I don't know, but
10 years before I was born, my maternal great grandmother's cousin was governor of MA. He was also the mayor of Boston for many years...one James Michael Curley.
