The unOFFICIAL DU new TV season thread
4 8 15 16 23 42

Okay so two special items to note.

W's speech tonight will not pre-empt the new "Survivor" and there is no new "The OC" but the two hour season premiere of "CSI" will be bumped/pre-empted unless CBS decides not to carry W's "please help me" speech (did anyone else get special prime time TV to ask for help in New Orleans?)

Aliens are all over all three big networks
"Threshold"-CBS
"Surface"-NBC
and "Invasion" on ABC. They were promoting this big time but the opening of the series (the means of the aliens getting here) is a HURRICANE in the Florida Everglades. I have noticed that the ads were pulled and now mention nothing about a hurricane. Apparently they are rethinking/re-editing the beginning.

TIP-ABC Family's "Beautiful People" is worth a watch to see if you are interested. A modern day "One day at a time" (spooky story line similarities to the behind the scene drama of the TV show) starring Daphne Zuniga and a casting bonus of her daughters-watch it and you will see what I mean. It just ended its summer run.

Most everything is gearing up next week in full force. Tuesday (9/20) features back to back conclusions to CBS's summer reality shows "Big Brother" and "Rockstar:INXS"

HBO has season premieres starting on 9/25 of "Extras" and season __ of "Curb your Enthusiasm"

1. Save yourself some time: Skip "Threshold"
A show that takes the genre of science fiction down several notches.

Bad acting, bad script, too much CGI and too much Hollywood. From the "let's rip off every other science fiction show ever made and run it through our magic blender" school of craft.

2. "The War At Home" = crap Can't wait for tomorrow's season premiere of
"Arreseted Development"

:woohoo:

Aside from "War At Home" Fox's Sunday night lineup remains strong.
"The Simpsons" may be past their prime, but it's still a better show than 90% of what's out there.

Last week I watched the Season Premiere of "Biggest Loser", I think I may have gotten myself sucked into that one.

:scared:

I let myself get emotionally invested. Why?!?!?!?!?

6. Kitchen Confidential has got some room to grow into an outstanding show.

There's a good dynamic there for a bang up ensemble comedy. It needs some tweaking and maybe some cutting, but I think this one is going to stick.

Prison Break is hokey and bursting with bad acting, but it's got that "24/Lost" structure with lots of intertwining subplots. Stacey Keach is the notable exception on the acting front, his portrayal of the Warden has been Emmy worthy. IMO.

I watch Biggest Loser as well. I don't know why, it's nothing but close up shots of really fat asses and people crying. And yet, I watch.

I'm kind of looking forward to "My Name is Earl."

7. Bump - Maybe we could get this moved to the TV Chat Group?
So it doesn't sink away so fast.
