Tx heat is worse now, than in August!
I am finding it hard to believe that it is September. Currently it is 98° and this has been the norm for two weeks. No rain and we are getting heat from above and below as the ground is giving off heat as well. All the plants and trees are droopy and sad looking. At night it cools down to a chilly 75°. I usually gear up for this kind of heat for August but in September things usually start to cool off in balmy East Texas. I am beginning to think the earth has been thrown off it's rotation is hurling into the sun. My electric bill is almost $300.00 this month, a first.

So how's the weather in your neck of the woods?

2. Yep, that what's happening.
The hotter the waters in the gulf, the stronger and more frequent the hurricanes.

5. Maine is warmer than usual too. Not just during the daytime
which isn't that unusual in September, but during the nights too. It still feels like summer at midnight. But considering that we didn't warm up here until June, I think we deserve it.

6. The hottest day ever on record in Austin was Sept. 13th, 2000.
That date is approximate, but it was 113 that day.

7. East Texas?
I spent some time in a little shithole about 30 miles north of Beaumont, called Silsbee. I remember going barefoot in short sleeves on Christmas day down there. It was always balmy and somewhat dank and fetid. Most always 20-30 degrees warmer than anywhere else in Texas, a little pocket of semi-tropic warmth.
