Can I play the songs on my iPod through my car stereo? |
|
Before you answer, I am thinking of getting the new Apple nano iPod. Problem is, my car is a new Jeep Grand Cherokee which means it has no cassette player, only an in-dash CD player and 10-disc changer in the back. I have a friend who has some cassette they attach to their iPod and play it that way, but since I don't have a cassette player in my car...is there any way I can play the songs on my iPod through my car stereo, even though I have no cassette player?

1. You can get an FM Modulator, which plays through a radio station. |
|
But, those aren't the greatest thing in the world either.
There are stereo companies that make compatible head units (I think Alpine is one). But that's a more expensive option.

4. I went to the Apple store and got one of the cassette adapters |
|
They also had the CD and FM things.
The cassette thing was good enough for my trip, though the adapter itself started clicking a bit in the cassette player.

5. griffin itrip, i have one for my ipod mini |
|
it's wireless, the trick is to tune you fm radio to the station with the most static. you can get them at bestbuy or any other electronics place. I bought mine online from www.macconnection.com and saved some money.

6. ask the dealer if there is an AUX input |
|
my car stereo has an input on the back specifically for plugging in an external device, like an iPod. I just had to have my mechanic plug a cable into it and run it out around the console, so I can plug my iPod in directly to the stereo and just select the AUX setting on the stereo. Pretty sweet.
