2. I'm one of the weird ones. My parents have been married for 43 years. |
So, once again, I get left out of potential gift-giving scenarios. x(

10. I'm not a step-anything, nor do I have step-anythings... |
...but I think I'd make a good stepmom if it comes to that.

12. I have a stepdaughter and step-granddaughter, |
which is kind of a strange feeling since I have no children of my own. We get along good though. Its just kind of shocking to not have had any kids and know I am old enough to be a granny. Step daughter teaches little one to call me by first name, which is FINE with me! Heheheh.

15. I have a stepgrandfather (but only technically)... |
because they got married before I was born. He's always been my grandpa, especially because from what I understand, my real grandfather wasn't the nicest guy in the world.
Add to that my (step) grandpa's nine (!!!) children from his previous marriage, all their kids, and even some of the kids' kids, and I've got a pretty extensive extended stepfamily. :)

18. I think the fact that you are apprehensive is good |
My mom wanted me to call my step-father dad and accept him as my real dad right off the bat. That felt so uncomfortable and was making my parents' divorce even more traumatic than it already was. I was eight when my mom and step-dad married.
Over the years I became comfortable with calling my step-father dad, but it took a long time.

19. My step-grandpa pitched for the Chicago White Sox |
Claral Lewis Gillenwater. One win and three losses for the 1923 squad (he threw a complete game shutout vs Boston for his one win). I have a stepmom (his daughter, obviously) and five step-sibs. I also had two stepsons and a stepdaughter from my first marriage (but I don't know if that counts or not). John Here's a cool note: When I was 10 or so, Polly (my SO) was the stepsibs' baby-sitter (she lived right across the street) and, thus, my babysitter too when I was hanging out over there.
