It got UGLY last night at the bowling alley..
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 09:08 AM by SoCalDem
Team A consists of 5 Walmart employees (including a store manager).. Team B consists of 5 UFCW (Stater Bros) union members..

They bowled against each other.. No "real" fighting, but lots of snippy comments.. and lots of "breaks" outside to cool off..

I hope they are on opposite ends next week.. The strike continues:(

Staters is not actually walking picket lines (they are the "sweetheart store") but their benefits are on the line too..

3. Unreported by SoCalDem is the fact that
Walter pulled a gun after Smokey's toe supposedly went over the line. Lebowski was furious at Walter and even Donnie seemed upset. The cops got called. The cowboy guy in the lounge seemed unimpressed one way or the other. You shoulda been there.

6. Nihilists!
Say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, at least it's an ethos.

4. "Ugly" and "Bowling Alley" in the same headline?! I'm shocked!
Seriously--more details--what's the background on "the Sweetheart Store"?

5. In a strike situation
the union will designate ONE chain that will NOT be picketed or struck (union members need to buy groceries too), so that they will remain open and will not have to hire non0union people or lock out union members.. Their deliveries are regular and their truck drivers , warehouse people are not harassed..

7. Go unions
I find it hard to believe that those were just ordinary Walmart employees - sure they weren't managers? At the very least, they must be people who have been there for a while and a gleefully participating in their own subjugation.

I think it would be neat to see a fight - I bet the union would kick the Walmart workers' asses.
