NEW YORK - The Internet's key oversight agency approved a domain name for the Catalan language Thursday while deferring final action on creating a red-light district on the Internet through a ".xxx" suffix.

Personally, I think it would be a good idea. In the old days (pre-internet), the adult industry always liked to police themselves. They wanted to do this so that Congress would keep out. They were very strict about not letting underage people into films or allowing them to buy the magazines. If there was a .xxx domain, it would be easy to create internet blocking software to prevent unauthorized porn usage.
