Bought six guppies last night.
Made all precautions to assure a safe and low-stress transition.
They are all dead.
Moral of the story- buy your fish from a reputable aquarium supply store- not a national discount pet chain. :cry:

1. Aww, it's not your fault.

I have a big aquarium and have purchased many fish over the years. Sometimes they just don't make it! Did you let them sit in their bags in the tank for a while, so that they could gradually adapt to the temperature?

I'm beginning to think it wasn't my fault. At least one had a parasite from what I could see, so it's very possible they all had it.

2. We had that problem

We have guppies, neons, shrimp, cat fish, tetras, three frogs and one crazy alge eater.

We've only had the tank a month and a half .... when we first got it they were dropping dead right and left. What happened was we got fish for a different place than where we bought the tank and those fish were probably sick.

After weeks of treatment, we finally were able to get more fish. We know have a second "birthin" tank. Good thing about guppies and tetras .... they get knocked up a lot.

9. I dechlorinated the water first.

Thing is I had guppies when I was 13. I kept them in a goldfish bowl with no filter or air pump, and they lasted for months. the difference was I bought those ones at a small pet shop, not Pet Supplies Plus.
