Need an MP3-player/music-service afictionado ..
the soon-to-be-9-year-old (end of October) wants an MP3 player for her birthday.

My husband is a webmaster/web-guru; I have NO technical know-how whatsoever.

A proposed plan is to get her a Dell-MP3-player or something, and then subscribe to Rhapsody (sp?) service. Supposedly, for $9 per month, she can download most of the Radio-Disney-flavor songs to which Her Royal Highness likes to listen.

Suggestions?

1. I would suggest an iPod shuffle, nano, mini, or a regular iPod & iTunes
considering that I'm an Apple fanatic. Here is the Apple iTunes/iPod website http://www.apple.com/itunes/
:hi: :loveya:  :pals: :woohoo:

2. Thank you.
Am taking a look now.

Oh, the pressure (the 9-year-old has to have the latest and greatest and all).

3. When I was nine

we played with toy cars!

LOL. It amuses me how technologically advanced kids are. We had a family friend come by and their son (about the same age as your daughter) and I didn't want him touching my computer, but he ended up arranging my start menu in such a way that I liked it.

Ironically I had more patience with computers when I younger.

I think teh iPod mini is a good buy. They are probably the least expensive and since your daughter is young I doubt she needs 40 gigs of space.

5. LOL!
I'm told she needs a MILLION gigs of space (we joke around with her - what machines can do these days is just ridiculous).

And you are right; I think that the simplest is probably the best.

She already has an 'e-machine' computer - hubby owns an internet-related company (don't tell her - he uses her machine as backup storage).

4. Check out the Zen players
It will play MP3 and WMA files, and comes In many colors.
From what I've read, It's supposed to be one of the best players available.
