Did anyone watch Threshold?
Man, that kicked ass.

Scared the crap outa me in a couple of places.

A welcome retreat from reality with some intelligently entertaining tv.

Awesome cast, too. Charles S. Dutton, Carla Gugino, Brent Spiner(Data!!!), Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent), Rob Benedict and Brian Van Holt. I don't know the reappearing dna-invaded guy's name, but I like him too.

The first one of the alien invasion shows on this season and it pretty well rocked.

1. Oh, come on! Are you kidding me? The dialog was like "The Naked Gun"!
First of all, I knew we were in trouble when the characters had to explain every little thing that was happening to each other--obviously, the audience must be idiots with no ability to infer or synthesize. Next, they appeared to have taken every "alien invasion" movie, picked out the harmonic points and fashioned the scenery around it.

That scared you, HeeBGBz? I was much more pissed than scared. You know this thing is going to be pulled in two more episodes, and yet everyone involved will walk away with triple my salary.

If this is the kind of crap that is picked up, I should ditch teaching and just start pimping my own scripts.

3. I usually give the people a couple of episodes to fit their characters
And flesh out the interaction. I was speaking of the storyline of invasion not coming in ships with personnel, but rather by interdimensionality and altered DNA. By making humans, changelings, and attacking from within.

I agree that it will probably be pulled in a short time. But for different reasons. Most people just won't "get it".

By all means, offer your writing to the world, we need inventive and creative stories.

4. Why alien invasion when we've got bushco?
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 11:27 PM by Democrats_win
It takes people's minds from a clear and present danger to an imagined danger that will never exist. You know, like tricking everyone into worry about Iraq when hurricanes, terrorists and Enron-style crooks are knocking at the door.

5. Sorry but I need a little escapism. I've had a bad few weeks
I can only take so much reality in one 24 hour period.

8. No, I headed north after 10 days of doing the apocalypso samba
My kids are still down there working. I couldn't get to my job down there, so I came back to Missouri to work rather than be dead weight.

Thanks.
