Study Says Cheese Doesn't Cause Bad Dreams
CHEESE does not give you nightmares at all, according to a new investigation into the truth of the old wife's tale.

But researchers also found that the type of cheese you eat can affect the type of dreams you have.

The study, perhaps unsurprisingly carried out by the British Cheese Board, involved 200 volunteers in a week-long cheese-eating experiment.

5. I wonder who those "researchers" were?
After all if you were given the assignment to find scientists who were experts in the effects of cheese ingestion on dream type, where would you start?

Perhaps I am not familiar with medical research in England.

9. I listened to a synopsis on NPR today on this item.
The chief exec. of the British Cheese board was interviewed about the findings of the study.

His recounting of dream types after eating various types of British cheeses was rather odd. Of course, the dreams were not frightening, but his anecdotal stories were bizarre.

I really thought the whole project was bonkers.

10. What if it's a whole big thing of cheese?
and different kinds, especially a large percentage of Gouda?

16. It does if you don't eat your fiber.
didn't know how stuck I was up
kept on eating cheese all day
until I put that bran inside me
that fiber did clear the way

oh, give me fiber
bulk & roughage
fiber 'cause I wanna feel light
fiber! in the morning
fiber 'fore I sleep at night

apologies to Peggy Lee - thanks to Jan Hooks/SNL

18. Yes ...
... but anyone who has ever had even a hint of arthritis or any other auto-immune disease should minimize dairy in all forms, it is well known to worsen such conditions.

And that can be a nightmare :)

19. Looks like Stilton is the way to go...
"When it came to dream type, it seemed that Stilton caused odd dreams, with 75 per cent of men and 85 per cent of women experiencing bizarre and vivid dreams."

And even if not, it's a great cheese.
