I'm cooking for the fire fighters and police in my hometown tomorrow. They begged me to cook red beans and rice.

I've been to every grocery store in town. Not a damned red bean to be found on any grocery store shelf. Do hurricanes cause scarcity in red beans? Have the red bean fields in Biloxi been demolished?

Dammit. I hope the guys and gals will settle for souped-up pintos and rice. (Might have to bake a ham, too, just to appease them.)
