to previous flame wars, one of which was ~1,000 posts long. This one may beat that record, depending on how busy the Mods are elsewhere. I am usually a major accellerant on this sort of topic, but decided to withdraw for the sake of my blood pressure after stating a few major points.

I don't understand how DUers can get so exercised about two people who have way too much time and money on their hands and not enough brains to manage both.

I think it's fun to think about a certain artist; I see something in their work that gets me going in some way. If I like their work, I usually find their persona appealing in some way. And I'll stick with them over the course of their careers because they explore something meaningful to me.

I think "yeah, it would be fun to do that; live life on that level."

But I don't think celebrity catfights are appealing as a general rule.
