In what instances would your web site host provider ask for your password? |

I asked mine a question and they want my password so they can see the problem. (wouldn't screengrabs be sufficient?)
I've got nothing of worry on it, but that's beside the point. ID Theft IS a worry and I will not give it to them unless there is absolute proof.

app you've created, and you've contacted them for help, it's perfectly reasonable for them to want to try recreate the problem.
You do tech support, you should know that.
