What Do You Want For Christmas
Or Chanukah, or Kwanza?

I want three things....

1. A tivo
2. New tires for my car
3. A $100 gift certificate to Barnes & Nobles.

How about you?

19. I wish. I love those amps.
But unless I could get a great deal on one, I can't see hauling around to all the dives that I seem to end up playing in.

Right now, I'm seriously considering a Fender Stage 90. It's really more in line with what I do/need. A Carvin SX-50 or SX-100 is also on the short list.

You're not listening. Of course, i know what you mean. I bought Boogie anyway. It makes the sounds i hear in my head.

23. Tut-tut, Prof. I'll put my Matchless Super Chief up against a Boogie
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 01:52 PM by Character Assassin
Any day of the week.

Of course, the damn thing is so loud after about 4 or 5 as to be useless, but man, what a clean sound.

Now, if anyone could just find me a used Matchless Dirt Box for under, say, $600, I'd be a happy man. Or their RV-1 Reverb!

Yeah, those are really nice too, but i wanted both a crystal clean sound and the fully saturated tone that i heard it my head. The Boogie does it. So do Cornford's but i think they're WAY overpriced.

36. bleh...
if you gig alot and aren't anal retentive get yourself a nice peavey classic 50, 2x12 or the 4x10. it's like a trem-o-verb's little brother and you won't cry when it falls over or you drop it.

for recording, go for it, for gigging, go with something that works and is replaceable when it's stolen/broken/lost etc..

20. I really pissed my family off over this issue.
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 01:09 PM by GumboYaYa
I told my Mom that I feel like we have to many material goods already and given the fact that there are so many people in the world with less than we have, I don't want Christmas gifts anymore. I told my family that if they felt they had to purchase me a gift, buy me a membership to the local Zoo, Art Museum, or Botanical Garden. Otherwise they can make a donation to any number of charities I support.

That really pissed my Mom off. She will hardly talk to me now. She thinks that I feel like I am better than every one else in the family. I think she feels guilty for hoarding material goods and she knows down deep that I am correct.

With which to sweep away the pitiful, corrupt governments of Earth and instate a new, mighty, strong corrupt government and unify all humanity! And then, then we shall prcoeed on the road to domination of the entire galaxy!

...But, barring that, I'd settle for the fifth Harry Potter book in paperback, and maybe one or two computer games (not sure which ones yet, gonna go looking through Best Buy for some soon).

Happy Christmas (War is Over)

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
Ans so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over over
If you want it
War is over
Now...

29. Peace on Earth, no overtime for me,
and the Two Towers extended edition DVD would be nice...I'd like a copy of Whale Rider, too, please.

I'd like to replace my cross-country skiing stuff that got stolen a few years ago, but I'd have to buy my husband a set and then talk him into going with me, or ski alone, which I don't like to do for several reasons (not as much fun, don't want to get assaulted by lunatics, and worry about what would happen if I fell and broke something).

30. good question....
i don't ever want anything for christmas. i'd prefer my parents and family to spend for themselves. all the stuff they give to me throughout the year is good enough for me. although, an "Anyone But Bush 2004" t-shirt would be nice to get from this website.

31. Mine
Love topics like this. I want:

Bush/Cheney resignation (highly unlikely, but I can dream)

CDs (I want the new ones from Edie Brickell, Ryan Adams, Pink, Barenaked Ladies, Letters To Cleo's Go, and Some Girls - Feel It. Never have been a Juliana Hatfield fan, but the Some Girls one sounds good. I'm a big fan of Sarah McLachlan, but Afterglow sounds disappointing. Heard some of the new Britney Spears album, and while there are a couple pop gems as usual, there is too much filler and misguided material. The single with Madonna is horrible! At least she's truly maturing, though.)

A small CD player/radio for my nightstand - will sit next to my CC radio.

More hard drive space for my computer.

And I always need a book and clothes.

Will see everyone later.. Hope you all get what you want. :)

and all the improvement to our house to be finished so we can utilize those 1000 square feet we despretly need. (We're putting in another 2 bedrooms and a bath in the basement, plus fixing up the family room down there. In the meantime, 6 people and a dog are squished into 1200 square feet and not enough rooms.)
