What is your food addiction? |
|
For me, it's Sherbet (of all things)...That cold, fruity taste; I just can't seem to get enough of it! :9 I hadn't eaten sherbet in years until this summer. I have no idea what brought it on, but now I can't stop eating the stuff.
What food keeps you wanting more?

|
I'm on sort of a diet and whenever I get a craving I will eat a serving of that ice cream. It doesn't hurt the diet too bad if I don't eat the whole pint at once.

12. Maine pizzas aren't the greatist. |
|
I'm originally from NJ and never realized how good NJ pizzas were until my family moved here. French people just don't know how to make them.
But, on the upside, I guess it's just as well. If I lived somewhere like NJ, I'd be pigging-out on pizza every day. :-)

in small daily doses. Sunflower seeds or peanuts, or toasted almonds if I have them. My little rats are eating more seeds and nuts than oats; I think they are trying to gain a little insulation for winter.
So, Maine Mary, do you have a favorite sherbet? And have you ever been to any islands off the coast of Maine?

But orange would be a close second.
As far as your Q... only once and that was years ago. I used to be i HS Band and one time we went to perform with other HS kids on an island called Vinalhaven. The ferry carrying us there was also bringing a huge load of fisheads for bait. Most of my friends got sick.
I live inland. It's beautiful here in the northern appalachian mtn range.

that'll take your appetite away! As for place cravings, sometimes I definitely crave Maine. As a child, I spent many wonderfilled days on little Squirrel Island, and in high school had many fun long hikes in the mountains of Maine and New Hampshire with my buddy, who has lived near Kezar Lake since then.
Oh, hubby loves Maine, too, although his family loved it so much, they up and left for California over a hundred and fifty years ago. ;) Still, he was totally blown away when, in a Maine antique store, we stumbled upon a wooden spar plane that was made by his great-great grandfather. Though bummed out when he saw they were asking 800 dollars for it, he left it there knowing it will never be nailed to the wall of a theme restaurant.

14. taco bell.......this is serious |
|
at college, my friends and me had a serious addiction to TAco Bell. Don't laugh, i mean I think they are seriously putting addictive things in their food. We ate there almost every day. We actually had a rating system for all the taco bells in our general area, and knew some of the employees on a firstname basis.
To this day I still get cravings for TAco Bell and Pepsi, out of the blue.

25. You left out Cheese Curls |
|
One time, before we were married, my ex-husband came home from college for the weekend to see me. His roomate gave him a ride.
Anyway, prior to the trip, they had been at a Maine Clam Fest/Keg party. Chris (my x) drank and ate too much. And to make matters worse, he ate a whole bag of cheese curls on the trip home.
Long boring story short, he puked clams and cheese curls all over his suitcase full of clothes. That combo makes me want to :puke: every time I think about it.
Sorry, but I just HAD to share that story.

It's almost as though there's some substance in them that makes them habit-forming. Sometimes I like to process them into a paste which I smoke. You know, if I'm in the mood for an after-dinner smoke. It's almost as if it were a "drug" of some sort. I wonder if there were a way to distill their glorious essence into something injectable or snortable. Then we could bypass the annoying eating part.

Weird, but true. I can go weeks without them, and then I go on a jag where I eat them five or six times a week. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Cooked pinto beans keep very well in the freezer, so I always have a supply to refry.
Occasionally, I'll get on a cabbage thing, too. Gotta eat cabbage. That happens a couple of times a year.
My favorite food in the whole world is homegrown tomatoes. But because that's so obviously right and sane, I don't consider that an addiction.

When I start eating it, I can't stop.
Not just chocolate, but potato chips, pasta, even hummus to a certain extent.
I've been eating to much of them lately and gaining weight like crazy. :-(
I need to reread about hi-carb withdrawal again. It does work for me.

i wanna say they're nutter butters, but I think they are called something else (nutter butters are cookies, these are like wafers). they are basically peanut butter creme inside of these crispy wafers and they come in like 3 sheets of squares. do not let me near those things because I will eat the the bag and start crying when they're gone.
