KitchenWitch's Stupid Question O' the Day #91 - Antivirus edition
Edited on Mon Sep-19-05 02:39 AM by KitchenWitch
Why, in the name of all that is right and good, would my antivirus software just disable itself periodically....

I am running Windows XP Home (No snarky get a mac, or use Linux comments need apply), on a laptop P4 2.66 GHz 768 MB RAM

The antivirus I am running is McAfee (subscription based purchesed online).

How can I get it to stop disabling itself???

1. Get AVG.
Better all the way around and it doesn't come with the randomly-disable-itself "feature".
That way it doesn't really matter what McAfee does, you're covered.

2. McAfee sucks
Seriously. Go with something else.

We have 4 computers in our household and we all run the ZoneAlarm firewall and antivirus. It works great and doesn't seem to have the glitchiness with XP that McAfee and Norton do.
