Bestiality. Masturbation. Incest. |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-19-05 11:12 AM by CatWoman
Gay Marriage. and a slam against the Supreme Court (which I REALLY enjoyed).
If you watched last night's Family Guy, American Dad and Harvey Birdman, you'll note that all of these subjects were covered.
Cartoons sure have evolved, huh?

1. I know it wasn't your intent... but when I see "Gay" in the same line as.. |
|
"Incest" and "Bestiality"... it pisses me off. Masturbation, I have no problem with, but... I've just seen those other things lumped together with "Gay" too many times by hateful bastards like Santorum, and I have a knee-jerk reaction.
:hi: :)

2. I'm sorry, that's just the way my thought pattern went |
|
one has nothing to do with the other.
Harvey Birdman had to represent Dr. Quinn and Race Bannon before the SCOTUS.
They wanted to get married, and the judge made them take it all the way to the high court.
They lampooned the hell out of Renhquist :D

Doesn't change my reaction to it. Having a progressive cause like Gay Marriage in the same line as horrible crimes like bestiality and incest just plain bugs me.
On edit... thanks for editing it. :)

Same thought, same time. I'm not blaming the OP, but I have the same incendiary reaction when I hear "gay" in the same breath with "pedophile" or "Muslim" and "extremist" in the same breath. (Why is it that we never hear the term "Christian extremist," when it's a reality that's nearly epidemic in our country?) :grr:

I think we SHOULD use the term "Christian extremist." It sets them apart from the rest of us who call ourselves Christian.

10. That's how I feel about it, Rev. |

I don't understand why liberals haven't latched on to this salient truth. (For the record, I've been a Christian most of my life . . . and I've found, in fact, that Christianity, when practiced as Jesus demonstrated, makes me a better Buddhist. )

18. And I think Christian extremist |
|
or "an alleged extremist Christian in the US faces charges in connection with the harassment of peaceful protesters protected by the First Amendment" or "an alleged extremist Christian in the US goes on trial Monday in connection with hate crimes associated with the bombing of an abortion clinic in *insert US city here*) is much more truthful than the pap that the mainstream media feeds us.

the Radical Religious Right, or RRR for short. Sort of like KKK in a way, since many of one are likely part of the other.

familiar with, so it has a shelf-life that we can use (in an honorable and truthful way, unlike the rightwingers.) Plus, I loathe acronyms.

for the compliment!
The right is definitely filled with radicals. They just don't see it in themselves, but the rest of the world knows it.
It's really amazing how these people live in an altered reality. The entire world outside of the U.S., plus 1/2 of the American population, is in agreement on almost all points. That 1/2 that is on the right doesn't see it that way, but while they're the minority, their vision is so warped that they think they're the ones who are correct.
I do think, however, that since Katrina, the tide has turned, and the rampant "Christian coalition" is going to finally meet its maker at last, and it ain't going to be a "heavenly" awakening!

My knee jerked with gay marriage at the end of the initial subject line, but on reflection I realized masturbation is another odd inclusion with incest or bestiality. I then interpreted it as just a list of sexuality things that are lumped together as equivalent sins by some narrow focused religious extremists.
