Rene Zelleger cites "FRAUD" in Divorce Filing Against Kenny Chesney

The 6 week marriage was travesty enough but this is just plain bizarre. Wonder what the fraud was? That he's bald & UGLY under that big hat? Hell. I knew THAT.

Friday, Sept. 16, 2005

Zellweger says `fraud' is legal term, not a reflection on Chesney...lol

(AP) - NEW YORK-Renee Zellweger, who has filed for an annulment from Kenny Chesney after just four months of marriage, says the couple "hope to experience this transition as privately as possible."

In court papers filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the Oscar-winning actress listed "fraud" as the reason for the breakup with the country music star.

28. Blame the principals for sending out a press release
Here's a news flash. If you want privacy, don't send out a release about your divorce/marriage/child's birth, etc.

The majority of the world probably wouldn't care about celebrity's private lives if the celebrities didn't insist on telling the world about everything they do.

You don't have to be dumb to like some country music but it helps.

Dixie Chicks, Bob Wells and his Texas Playboys, The Byrds "Sweetheart
of the Rodeo," and Chet Atkins on his guitar ... now that is music.

I also wondered if that phony cowboy country guy was gay too .....
I wonder if he and judge Roberts ever hooked up?

65. Dixie Chicks? I dunno...
After seeing how they were getting beat up for their politics, I decided to check out some of their actual work. It just sounds like the typical mullet-blond-mustache-Coors rock that C&W--or what's the corporate term? Oh yeah, Young Country--has become.

Granted I was never a true, true fan but I did love Hee Haw as a kid; now SCOFF all ye want but they had some badass Country guest stars back in the day. And yeah a lot of 'em got old and shuffled off to Branson to open up their own dinner theatre, but that's another story.

I guess as the suits have taken over the biz, everything gets watered down. They've taken the funk, soul and heart out of R&B, the artistry and virtuosity out of jazz, the progressiveness out of rock, so why should Country be left out of the fun?

C&W should evoke the image of Clem dressed in a beat-up Stetson with a flannel shirt, Carhart vest, Levis jeans and cowboy boots on a cold early morning with the rusty Thermos of coffee from Thelma's Diner climbing into an 18-wheeler with "Clem" and a kicking donkey painted on the side. Instead, what do we get? Bob Long, Senior Logistics Supervisor for WestCorp Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (Western Division), climbing into his 4Runner calling his wife on that new Treo to find out if he needs to bring home a case of Dasani only to hear her bitch about having to cancel her 4PM with her client and rush home because Svetlana the au-pair got sick after lunch and someone had to drive Felicity to her play date.

13. It was a 4 month marriage, and that is the usual point when things reveal.
I've read this before about marriages. Four months is usually as long as someone can keep it together if they are hiding something, could be as simple as another girl on the side, differences in your ideas about marriage, or could an addiction, or even abusive behavior. Four months is about all someone can keep it together before things come out.

The next crucial spot in a marriage is 4 years, that's when the romantic veil is pretty much transparent and you both decide if you can fall back in love with the person that leaves their underwear all over the floor or whistles constantly.

Then 20, that's the: "Kids are out of the house now and I want to find myself" crossroads.

But the four months thing stood out in my mind on this. It's interesting to me because I admire Zellweger and have a friend who thinks Chesney is the hunkiest thing, ever. (I just don't see it).

14. I have been saying for years he's gay
And I'm convinced that's what is behind this. A country singer cannot be gay, especially men. A few women (Terry Clark, Jo Dee Messina) have "survived" the "rumors," but the guys? Forget it.... the fan base wouldn't't stand for it. Pop, Rock, etc. often wouldn'
t stand for it...

21. It doesn't mean anything: It's a way of getting an annulment
rather than a divorce, when you've already consumated the marriage and exceeded the time for a "degree of nullity" annulment.

Still, some "fraud" (or material misrepresentation) has to be "proved." I'm sure it will be sealed.

62. Perhaps it's a language/culture issue...
On your side of the pond, a "titfer" is readily recognizable as a hat. Here in the states, you'd be lucky to find 5% of the population who'd know that.

However "tit" (slang for "breast") is commonly used here, especially by those with marginal social skills.

Cheers! :)

You have a gift with words. Well, it's not unknown here for some-one to be called a "tit". I suspected it might be the connection, but didn't really connect the dots with the subject of the discussion.

Heck, maybe he's a nice bloke. I feel I was out of order there really, though it was a jokey comment. He did strike me as looking dopey in that hat.
