with the advertisers on DU. Help the animal victims of Katrina, but did they need to use the image of a pit bull? And the D-match; that's really an offensive picture. I know that one is supposed to be funny, but I avoid listening or looking at those two. It makes going to the discussion forums page uncomfortable. Ha, ha. Gag, gag.

3. Pit Bulls give some of us, a lot of us I think,

the willies. Too many pit bull attacks in my neighborhood. Too many TRAINED as attack dogs. I am not against the breed per se, but I admit I would be more sympathetic if the dog pictured didn't have such a bad rep. Perhaps a labrador, known for their gentle demeanor.

The bad rep is caused by people. You blaming the dog/breed is a lot like blaming the victims.

I guess that dog's owners trained it to do that.

It couldn't have anything to do with the breed's nasty temperament and bone crushing jaw strength.

People who defend pits make me ill. They are a nasty vicous breed and have brought death and disfigurement across the country.

I sent an e-mail, expressing concern about the "Fish Wars" ad on the front page. Really. With all the religion wars this board has seen, do we need any more encouragement?

5. The fish wars is a personal trigger for me

because I am a Christian to whom the fish symbol has historical meaning BUT I totally believe evolution is the miracle of all time.

So getting in MY face with the fish isn't quite fair.

Once again, the RW hijacked my religion.

But even if it didn't bother me personally it is just kinda snotty.

I would have hoped that DU would be more open-minded and sensitive to those of us who find the concept of religious wars offensive.

There is nothing wrong with those fish. You just want to shut those of us who aren't religoius up. That is all. Those fish are an opposing viewpoint of the predominant religion in this country. You have no basis to complain. None.

You know, I'm so fed up. It's bad enough that we're practically shut out of public discourse. We aren't the ones who cause the religious wars. We're the victims of it. And those of you who should be on our side want to shut us up. "Religious War" to you means anyone who isn't a Christian, or isn't willing to pander to every aspect of Christianity.
