2. I guess I'm not hip enough
I could appreciate the take on pulp fiction novels and some of the visual effects were really creative, but I really didn't like it.

I just forced myself to finish watching it because it was late back to the store and I owed fines. I couldn't bear to pay extra for something I didn't watch.

4. I suspect I may not like it -- seems technically/texturally interestingly
but a bit of a curiousity piece. And I just want to konw what it is. I am an Clive Owen fan and a Frank(?)Mille fan.

Patron St. of the cow bell.

I liked that Prophecy trilogy only because Walken is so freakin' bizzare.

6. Frank Miller was the priest
And Elijah Wood was creepy!!

I enjoyed it. The first half was the best half IMO.

7. I absolutely HATED that movie!
We should've walked out. Don't know why I didn't. Afterwards, my hubby and I felt as if we'd been assaulted. Seriously. There's NO need for that much gratuitous violence, IMO. Who cares if it's "stylistic"?! Whatever. The world can be dark enough, as it is. My two cents.

13. Not everyone's cup of tea, BUT...
... the intent was to make Frank Miller's Sin City, not Hollywood's Sin City.

I've heard it was very violent and very misogynistic.

23. That's true on both accounts.
I haven't read Sin City, but I have read some of Miller's other stuff. My understanding is he wanted to make an extremely grim portrayal of a city in decline where corruption makes life cheap. It was extremely violent, especially towards women, but it was an important part of the plot. I guess he figures that's how a lawless society would be.

24. Ah, not enough of a front porch, ...
... rack, Van Dorens, shirt potatoes, fun bags, blouse bunnies, dual front airbags, torpedoes, bazzongas etc.

Sorry, just watched the horrendously bad Double D Avenger with commentary from Joe Bob Briggs who uses just about every euphemism for breasts in existence.

27. Loved it.
I thought it was a great rendition of Miller's work. I've been majorly disappointed with the majority of comic book adaptations but this was exactly as I hoped it would be.
I love Franks work and have this signed poster in my workroom
