Southern Calif fire victims...how are you doing now? |
|
During the fires, many of you posted that you were in danger. Several had to evacuate. It was happening so fast that I don't know if any lost their homes or residences. How is life now? Have you recovered?

I know So. Californians have stories to tell that we would like to hear.

4. I was packed to evacuate and posted a Bye Bye |
|
Came close. I've been through this before so I started packing early. Lost a house in 1970 but I was just a young hippie then ( wow , dude! My beanbag chair! My telephone cable spool table! )
The smoke smell is out of everything now. A friend of mine lost her home; she lives about 3 miles north of me. Her problem is not the coverage as she will be made financially whole, but the feeling of being completely totally adrift. Imagine if you walked out the door with no notice ---like to go down to the 7-11 or something and everything beyond what you were wearing and your car was just poof! gone. You don't even know where you will sleep that night...

My college roommate's grandmother had her house burned twice. :scared: Where I used to live I constantly watched the hills wondering if this would be the year for the fire. I now live in a less fire prone area. I'm glad that you were spared.
I know others were not. So..
