I think there's an epidemic of senility in our neighborhood.
And some people shouldn't be allowed to have computers.
There are a few folks who latch on to every freaking e-mail hoax, no matter how outlandish, and follow the ever present instructions to "FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR E-MAIL LIST!!!"
Theyn think they're some kind of modern day Paul Reveres, out to save the entire population from destruction.
TA-DAAAA!!!
And they either have all the >>>>>>>>
or you have to open 12 forwards to get to the message.
BTW, I have a new rule.
I open the original message.
If it's a "forward" I shit-can it.

Today's was about how the Swiffer WetJet cleaning thingy has anti-freeze in it and when your pets walk across a freshly cleaned floor they get it on their pads and then lick them and then curl up and die with liver failure. Give. Me. A. Freaking. Break.
So I go to Snopes and it's a load of hogwash.
Big surprise.
I reply to the guy with instructions on how to check things out at Snopes, AND a page capture of the debunking of the Swiffer thing.
Here's the answer I got:

Just trying to get out information that seemed important but Before I
send any more of these type of things out I will send them to you to
check.(sic)
