I suspect that's a fairly common coloration. In Yoda's (cat-in-the-box) case, it probably came in handy for camouflage, as he used to live out on the bluff behind our house.

7. Rogue was picked up hiding under

the hood of a chevy pick up truck. The man had driven all the way to work and Rogue (he called him chevy)made such noise when he got there that the man checked under the hood. He took him to the shelter here and we happened upon him a couple of days later. He was SO tiny! That changed, he's one fat-cat for sure.

I don't understand my cat at all. I got him a nice, fluffy bed thing that could provide him all the security he could ever want. When I brought it home, he looked at it, sniffed it, got in it, and peed.

He sleeps in a cardboard half-case that held cans of his food at one point. His butt sticks out, his head rests on the edge, and he has to squish his tail into what can't possibly be a comfortable position to keep it "hidden."

I've had cat friends all my life, but I've never had one so earthy.

13. He's very food oriented ...

Moreso than most cats I've known ...

When he adopted me, he weighed barely two pounds. IOW, he was starving. He knows the box held food at one point because I got it shortly after he arrived and had it sitting on my counter to reassure him that more food would be coming when I got home from work and opened it. When he became accustomed to my schedule, he'd be sitting by the box when I got home and waiting, anxiously. He doesn't seem as paranoid about not having a meal as he once was, but he's stayed attached to that box.

He's a cute kid.



Obviously this is after he'd had nourishment for awhile. :-)

17. That's a great picture. I notice he's waiting on the counter

for the goodies. I had a cat that would bang on the cupboard where she knew the food was. As in hint, hint. I have a female now who sits at and looks at her food bowl until I feed her.

Yours is a very beautiful cat. Four years ago I took in a cat who looked like that, a beigy orange. His name was Boy, a real muscle bound but starving 6 year old stray in very poor shape. When he started eating well, he turned out to be built like a mack truck. Yours also has that look of a powerful little mack truck. A darling looking cat

16. Harley doesn't usually like this kind of thing.

She never plays in boxes or bags, and normally just sleeps on the back of the couch all day. This was the funniest, weirdest thing for her to do. Even stranger is that she's camera shy, hates having her photo taken. Point a camera at her and she runs as though I'm chucking flames at her. But this basket must have been damn comfortable because she just sat there mellowly, secure in her basket.
