Ah, the lights are dimmed, Miles Davis on the stereo, Martini in hand,
I'm relaxed, the kitchen is cleaned, the fish tank is lit, I'm done with work for the day, dinner is over, my face is washed...

Ah, what a great feeling!

Now, where's progmom?

p.s. - it's a Miles Davis live recording from Berlin from way back when, and it's brilliant (naturally)!

1. What, no jazz fans?
The Floyd fans are definitely not posting during the day, but are during the night;

Perhaps the jazz people are the day crew, and don't post at night?

2. I'm tense, the fish are long dead, I have lots of work to do, I'm hungry
I have a cold and I need a shower and my wife fell asleep dead tired.

I think I'll put on John Abercrombie's "Open Land." That will make me feel better.

5. If he's not a real cowboy, I'm a'gonna take a 2x12 to his fucking face
Sorry, MrsGrumpy, but I totally don't get the fake cowboy thing.

Wearing a cowboy hat - okay.

Wearing cowboy boots - okay.

Wearing a cowboy shirt - okay.

Wearing chaps - okay.

Wearing a bola - okay.

In any given circumstance, any one of these is perfectly fine - cyclists certainly do well with cowboy boots and chaps. Western singers should, I suppose, wear a bola and a cowboy shirt.

But, to wear all of them, to PRETEND to be a cowboy, to dress like a cowboy, when one is not, is, IMO, to be insulting and disrespectful of a legitimate people and their lifestyle. No different than wearing a lab coat and stethoscope; or walking around in full hockey gear; or putting on a clerical collar and stole.

13. If you're using them for sexual pleasures,
that's just fine.

If you are attempting to present yourself as a nun or a french maid to society in general, then yes, you have to get rid of them, and grow some integrity.

22. I still don't know what post you're talking about, but that's okay.
I don't know Mavis at all - but judging solely from looks, she looks like she really belts out the tunes with a big voice!

I'll have to check out her music.

24. I saw Mavis in March at South by Southwest.
She still has a great voice. Of course, with Mavis, it was 5 minutes of story, the song, a few more minutes of story, then some more song. But, she still sounded great.

She has told me some fun ones about working with Prince. :)

Hey - I met Luther Henderson once - at a party at the Russian Tea Room, after a concert at Carnegie Hall.
