2. That is a wolf spider,
quite common in my neck of the woods, and when I come upon one I am always struck by how friggin' big they are.

Not tarantula big, but big enough to give me the willies....

3. Wolf spider, huh?
Almost as big as a tarantula...I'd have the willies as well....

I hear the tarantulas move slowly...hopefully these do as well......

Glad there aren't any in my neighborhood....:scared:

especially when they run towards you....

4. I've always sort of had a fondness for wolf spiders
They jump! I've lived in a few basement apartments, so I got used to these guys. I like to think they ate the other bugs, and saved me from being bitten.

The centipedes...I never got used to.

7. I found a bunch
in my woodpile, both in my basement and outside.

I cannot profess any fondness for them, but am always surprised at how damn big they get and how fast they move.
