It's a real shame - Rage Against the Machine.......
Edited on Mon Sep-19-05 11:51 PM by ikhor
Ironically the awesome band Rage Against the Machine, raged all through the 1990s, with not much to rage about really. Everything was going great, compared with todays times.

I wonder how it would be like if Rage Against the Machine was just starting out now, and putting out albums directly related to BushCo?

Can you imagine Rage highlighting a tour today, with millions of young, screaming, angry fans?

1. They certainly would have no shortage of material
I'll never forget the album cover with the self-immolating monk.

2. Very famous pic
A guy who I used to buy weed from back when I was in High School had that as a poster on his wall; we used to get stoned and I'd look at that picture...

3. and VERY powerful
I was going to post the image here but decided against it.

Someone in GD was speculating about whether we are reaching the point in Iraq where we will be seeing protests of this kind.

Evening, E.

5. Which reminds me...
...there was an absolutely hysterical editorial-article in The Onion about 8 or so months ago with this title:

Where Are You Now, When We Need You Most, Rage Against The Machine?!

If you (or anyone) happens to have access to their archives, try and look for it and check it out. It was awesome.

6. There was actually quite a bit to rage about...
Most of us just weren't aware of it at the time. :(

7. yes sir
the poverty and oppression that Rage spoke about no doubt existed, but no one really cared because the majority of us were well off and enjoying economic prosperity and no wars of aggression.

now, i think the feeling of unrest is palpable, and their music could certainly capture the sentiment of today
