Who's your favorite "likeable doofus/sad sack" on TV (past or present)? |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 11:12 AM by Mike Daniels
No contest - Tobias Funke from Arrested Development.
It's hard to top getting yourself unintentionally involved in a gay protest as an accidental by-product of dressing up as a pirate but Tobias manages to effortlessly reach new levels while maintaining an air of blissful unawareness.

1. Luther Van Dam (Jerry Van Dyke) on "Coach." |
|
The episode where he confessed to picking out his family vacation one year (a lovely sounding place called Pearl Harbor) sticks out particularly.

3. Tom Poston's character (George? I think) from "Newhart" |
|
I like Tom Poston anyway, but George(?) and the clown from last season's "Committed" are my two favorite characters of his.

5. I agree, Tobais is a no-brainer! |
|
I especially love this dialogue from season 2:
Tobais : Even if it means me taking a chubby, I will suck it up! Tobais: Nothing wrong with that. Tobias : I've been in the film business for a while but I have yet to get one in the can! Tobias: Context. Tobias : I wouldnt mind kissing that man between the cheeks! Tobias: Tobias. You blow hard!

12. Howard Borden on the "Bob Newhart Show" |
|
(Howard takes totally burned-to-a-cinder turkey out of the oven) Emily: "Howard, what happened to the turkey?" Howard: "But I followed the directions! It said one half hour for every pound and I weigh 175."
Maybe you had to be there, but I'm
