I am a KILLER of Cordless Phones. HELP me.
I can't seem to make one last more than a year.

All of a sudden my phone is giving me static when I try and get a dial tone. Then it says, "Out of range." I'm about 2 feet from the base unit. Why is it doing this? I plugged in my old (corded) phone and it works fine.

1. Do you buy decent ones or cheap-o ones?
Sometimes that makes the difference. Also, some batteries suck. You may want to check that!

3. Not sure
Two years in a row, I've received a cordless phone for Christmas.

It has a NICD 3.6V battery pack. It looks like 3 batteries wrapped in yellow plastic with two wires coming out of it that are attached to a white plug in the phone thingy. Where do you buy these things?

5. Radio Shack or Best Buy. Any type of store
that sells electronics!

2. I am a killer of corded mice
but I love my corded phone. My cordless was nearly a prototype and lasted years. I think the newer ones are cheap pieces of shit. Do you keep it recharged all the time? How long since you changed the battery?

4. It's generally in the cradle unless I forget to put it back.
I've never changed the batteries. I've had it since last Christmas.

6. is it recharging when it's in the cradle?
sometimes it doesn't seat right, or the contacts are dirty.
Take a pencil eraser and rub the contacts with it-that's what the phone store people did with mine once and it worked like a charm...
