Unbelievably stupid statement of the night, |
|
as seen printed on the side of a Burger King bag:
"This Bag May Contain On Average 30% Post Consumer Material."
Forgetting the writer's obvious lack of ability to use punctuation, look at the beginning of that sentence again: "This Bag May Contain...."
OK, so they're telling us that it may have recycled paper in it, but then again, it's just as likely that it may not, yes?
It's entirely possible, then, for exactly none of the bags that Burger King uses to have any recycled content, and yet that utterly vacuous, misleading sentence would still be true, because, hey, you never know...the one you're holding May Contain On Average 30% Post Consumer Content... or may contain fibers spun from the purest gold, or silk, or Black Widow Spider Toxin, for all you know.
So what the hell, then, is the point of printing that sentence on the bag in the first place?
Anyone know? I sure can't figure it out.
