1. When I left for work at 3pm, Rita was still off shore between Florida |
|
and Cuba. Whats going on now. I'm sorry, I work in a factory, and we don't get updates. Maybe I should put the weather channel on. Sometimes I think us Detroiters, and Metro-Detroiters live in a bubble.

5. Dear God, like you haven't had enough to deal with in this last |
|
year. My prayers are with you, and your children. How is your eldest child handling this?

8. Both kids are freaking out |
|
They came home thrilled that school is cancelled for the rest of the week. However, they have both declared themselves too young to die. My eldest is in the middle of adjusting to new meds (3!), and that hasn't been going well. I've had to send him to school two days in a row with NO ADHD meds...so, I've gotten comments from teachers in his planner that he can't sit still, he can't concentrate, he's not doing his work. The doctor finally called me back today, and switched things around, so hopefully he will chill out before we have to leave Thursday.

|
As I said, my prayers for you.

14. I'm really not feeling it lately |
|
I can't sleep, I'm hardly eating, I'm a wreck. My back has been out since Thursday, since I had to physically put my eldest into the car (all the way down the hall, out the door, and around the car a few times). My entire right side is in muscle spasm right now, despite heat, ice, Advil, and Soma. My husband is out of town, back tomorrow, and I was trying to load stuff up to take to the in-laws today. Everything hurts on the right side from the neck to the toes, complete with shooting pain in the arm. I really didn't need Rita right now.
Thanks for positive vibes.

I have to do what I'm doing. Never mind that I don't feel like doing any of it.

haven't really been paying much attention to it today. Though I am concerned as I live in Dallas.

4. It's just getting bigger and bigger |

Like Katrina did. It might not go in at Galveston directly, but the dirty side will hit there anyway, from the looks of things.

North of Galveston...We have a hotel reservation in Kansas for Thursday night. Things that we don't want to blow away with the trailer are being taken to my mother in law's house, which hopefully won't flood too badly. Kids and animals will be road tripping with us.

Watching reports; I'm up here in Canada now, but I passed through Galvaston a few times. I hope it's spared..

10. It doesn't look good for Galveston |
|
even if they don't get a direct hit, they'll likely get the dirty side of the storm, which is worse.

13. it's a beautiful city |

I almost settled there during one of my many trips across the country; I loved the history and the vibe. I'm thinking good thoughts about it tonight..
