Has everyone had good experiences with Netflix? |
|
I got an offer for a free one month's trial offer. I may take it and just go ahead and get it.

13. I've had the opposite experience |
|
The "turn around time" for me has gone from one day to 4-7 days. I used to drop 3 DVDs in the mail on Monday, by Wednesday I'd have 3 new ones. These days, it's unusual for me to get all 3 before the following Monday.
I was going to post and ask if any one else was having the same problem, or if it was relative to my location (Fort Lauderdale, FL). Anyone?
Thanks.

17. Why do you send all three at once? |
|
Just curious. Me, as soon as I finish one, I drop it in the mail. I always have one or two around the house that way.
For the OP, I love it. It's so much more convenient than standing in line at the video store.

Don't have time during the week. So, they all go in the mail on Monday.
Netflix has been terrific until just recently.

I dropped 3 DVDs in the mail yesterday - all together in the same mail drop. Today, Netflix acknowledged receipt of 1 and is sending the next #1 in my queue.
What happened to the other two? Is it the post office or Netflix?
Just wondering. I think I'll drop Netflix a line.

and Blockbuster with there 'no-more-late-fee-fees' and less selection then the video section of a Disney store can suck it.
At last count, Mr Beast Man and I have 60 movies in queue. And they are so quick. I mailed back movies on monday. They received them on tuesday and shipped out two other movies, which will probably show up today.

7. Yeah, we love it at our house. |
|
We get most movies within a day or two of putting them at the top of the list. Once in a great while we luck out and get a movie on the day it's supposed to be released on DVD. On the rare occasion we get a DVD that doesn't work, we just send it back--no questions or trouble or anything like that.

Great selection of movies. Almost always fast service, and it's pretty rare that you get a defective DVD.

He's subscribed for a while now. The turnaround time has been very fast, and he's only had one out of hundreds of movies arrive damaged. I think he has a better deal than what they offer now (they changed the options, I think), so they're probably not making much on him. He has absolutely no complaints.

At worst, sometimes a DVD will ship from a different warehouse, which may cause a lag in shipping time, but it's perfect.

I like to get a lot of independent, foreign films and tv shows you can't find in rental stores, and the ability to watch stuff on your own schedule (as opposed to cable, satellite tv) is huge in my book. also I wouldn't give one red cent to Blockbuster.
quick processing as well. if I send one out on a monday for instance, I'll typically get my next selection on wednesday. of course if you live in a rural area it might be longer

I received a month of Netflix as a gift. The friend who gave it to me said that our nearby post office (a rather large collection center) was a Netflix shipping facility. I can literally drop my watched DVD in the collection box outside the PO in the morning and see a new DVD in my mailbox the next day.
BTW I just saw Inherit the Wind and it was well-acted, well-written, and relatively accurate, if not a little heavy handed. Highly recommend.
Mark M. keeps talking up Downfall on Morning Sedition so I added it to my queue, a movie I probably wouldn't have seen without Netflix.

I had the 3-out-at-a-time plan. I was generally very happy with it, although sometimes it seemed to take quite a while for them to get the movie back/send me a new one. Minor though, and probably not their fault.

32. Overall, it's been pretty good |

I have had a few disks that got damaged and a few that got lost in the mail, either coming or going. Once they even sent the wrong movie. My family has been a subscriber for two years and most of the time, Netflix works as advertised. A big problem for us is my son putting inappropriate movies in our Netflix queue. We ended up having to change our password to prevent him from ordering PG-13 and R rated movies.
