10. Hi Ya -
we purchased a new mattress a few weeks ago and now I get nosebleeds every nite.

My hubby actually DOES use a step-stool to hoist his little bod into bed.

:silly:

11. My bed was pretty high before ...
now, I feel almost like a little girl climbing up into my grandma's feather bed ...

sorta like this ...

When I was a little bitty girl
Just up off-a floor
We used to go down to Grandmas house
Every month-end or so
We'd chicken pie and country ham
N homemade butter on the bread
But the best darn thing about Grandmas house
Was her great big feather bed

It was nine feet high and six feet wide
Soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty-leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It'd hold eight kids n four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On Grandmas feather bed

After the supper wed sit around the fire
The old folks'd spit and chew
Pa would talk about the farm and the war
And my Grannd sing a ballad or two
Id sit and listen and watch the fire
Till the cobwebs filled my head
Next thing I'd know I'd wake up in the morning
In the middle of the old feather bed

It was nine feet high and six feet wide
Soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty-leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It'd hold eight kids n four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On Grandmas feather bed

Well I love my Ma, I love my Pa
Love Granny and Grandpa too
Been fishing with my uncle, I rassled with my cousin
I even kissed Aunt Lou
But if ever had to make a choice
I guess it ought to be said
That I'd trade them all plus the guy down the road
For Grandmas feather bed

It was nine feet high and six feet wide
Soft as a downy chick
It was made from the feathers of forty-leven geese
Took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick
It'd hold eight kids n four hound dogs
And a piggy we stole from the shed
We didn't get much sleep but we had a lot of fun
On Grandmas feather bed

But I'll be online during the day tomorrow. I'm going to try to go to bed now. So PM me and I'll PM you my cell # etc too.

Yay!

G'nite!

20. I didn't realize that you were that old!
really ... old enough to be listening to vinyl ...

I still have a very large collection dating back to the late '60.

Did you ever listen to Bill Withers?

Grandma's hands
Clapped in church on Sunday morning
Grandma's hands
Played a tambourine so well
Grandma's hands
Used to issue out a warning
She'd say, "Billy don't you run so fast
Might fall on a piece of glass
"Might be snakes there in that grass"
Grandma's hands

Grandma's hands
Soothed a local unwed mother
Grandma's hands
Used to ache sometimes and swell
Grandma's hands
Used to lift her face and tell her,
"Baby, Grandma understands
That you really love that man
Put yourself in Jesus hands"
Grandma's hands

Grandma's hands
Used to hand me piece of candy
Grandma's hands
Picked me up each time I fell
Grandma's hands
Boy, they really came in handy
She'd say, "Matty don' you whip that boy
What you want to spank him for?
He didn' drop no apple core"
But I don't have Grandma anymore

If I get to Heaven I'll look for
Grandma's hands

My best friend and I just liked John Denver back in the day and she had that song on vinyl. Hell, she still has the LP...just no turntable to play it on.
