Just great! Panic has hit
my city again as far as gas is concerned (here in Mississippi). All of the gas stations are crowded again for fear the hurricane will cause gas shortages. During Katrina there was no gas here, and the stations that had gas, had 6-8 hour waits with 4 mile long lines.
Here we go again.

5. We're about
200 miles away from Corpus Christi.

I suspect that we will get lots of rain and some big wind, but I believe that we will be safe.

They are saying now that the storm is going to hit Texas... " The cone of uncertainty" is getting smaller!

:scared:

I am about 160 miles from the MS coast, and Katrina was still a Cat. 1 with sustained wind 75 mph and some gusts reaching 100 mph!!

I just bought 5 shares of Exxon Mobile. Hey, if they're going to make money, I might as well, too.

15. Well, I guess now is a good time to be
working for an oil & gas company. My company is pretty small, but some larger companies have been wanting to buy it. Don't think it will happen. The owner needs no money as he is already pretty rich.

19. That's part of the problem...
Speculators driving up the prices. Nothing against you, just in general.

9. Question
If you have time to wait 6 to 8 hours for gas, wouldn't it be just wiser to stay home and clean the place up a bit? You're already going to be late for work, along with everyone else.

10. I never waited for gas at all. Luckily I had some, but
people were burning all their gas waiting for gas. Some people have no sense. If they wouldn't panic, then we would have gas.

especially many of them probably have the A/C on, baking in their SUVs

* and I'd assume that about any state, not south bashing *

12. Yep, you are right on.
Some of the people would be sitting on the hoods of their car mingling with others waiting for gas. It was really strange. People were topping off their tanks. Waiting in line to put that extra 1/4 of a tank in their car. Panic brings out the dumb in people.

I may or may not go. My hubby really wants to go and we have friends coming into town for it, so we probably will, but I've seen them a lot.

I can't believe this is happening all over again down in the Gulf. My thoughts are with all of those in the affected area.
