Wow! I'm 2.65 hours into Battlestar Galactica, and it's fucking awesome!!

As I posted earlier, I just got the first season DVD today, since I don't have cable, so have never seen any episodes or the movie.

I'm now watching the movie, and am 2.65 (though likely 2.67 now that I've been typing) hours into it - WOW!

Totally fucking wow!!!!

BSG is "Best Series Going" IMHO. I was in your position back in '78 or '79 when the first BSG series was being aired. I loved that show when I could catch it on a friends TV. That friend had a nice TV with great reception but always insisted on having a party instead of watching the show. I was the one geek in that crowd who wanted folks to shush whilst I watched the show. Now I can watch the new BSG on my Hi-Def wide screen which I can TIVO if I choose to do so. I love living in the future. (Still a geek too!)

To be honest, I thought the miniseries was okay until the very end when the human looking cylons came on screen... (with the big revelation about a certain crew member)

and, I thought the series itself was decent, but got better with each episode until it really took off the last few episodes of Season 1. And, then the end of Season 1 - wow!!!

9. yes, you definitely need to see the miniseries to start

it's all continuous from the beginning of the miniseries until now, so it would be very hard to come in during the middle.

12. I wish I could email DVR files

I have every episode on DVR from the beginning...including the miniseries.

However, with my birthday coming up at the beginning of December and then XMas, I may erase the DVR stuff to clear space and then hopefully get the DVD of Season 1.
