Coolest TV Theme Song?
I know the answer, but I'll withhold it to see if anyone can get it.

1. Hmm.. that's a tough one.
I personally like the theme of Monk: "It's a Jungle Out There,"
but I suspect the answer is either Gilligan's Island or The Brady Bunch.

I preferred the Adamses on both scores. Fred Gwynne was fun as Herman Munster, though ..

36. KITH theme music is great, but...
...would it ever exist if not for the inexplicable influence of the Ventures on a generation of young Canadians who would go on to form instrumental surf/twang bands in homage to the Ventures?

Got to see the Shadowy Men perform once in a little club... tremendous. I'd pay $50 for a live recording from that night.

104. "Battlecry" produced by Nujabes
sharp like an edge of a samurai sword
the mental blade cut through flesh and bone
though my mind's at peace, the world out of order
missing the inner heat, life gets colder
oh yes, I have to find my path
no less, walk on earth, water, and fire
the elements compose a magnum opus
my modus is operandi is amalgam
steel packed tight in microchip
on my arm a sign of all-pro
the ultimate reward is honor, not awards
at odds with the times in wars with no lords

a freelancer,
a battle cry of a hawk make a dove fly and a tear dry
wonder why a lone wolf don't run with a klan
only trust your instincts and be one with the plan

some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the way of the samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battlecry

some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the way of the samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battlecry

look, just the air around him
an aura surrounding the heir apparent
he might be a peasant but shine like grand royalty
he to the people and land, loyalty
we witness above all to hear this,
sea sickness in the ocean of wickedness
set sail to the sun set no second guessing

far east style with the spirit of wild west
the "quote-unquote" code stands the test of
time for the chosen ones to find the best of
noble minds that ever graced the face of
a hemisphere with no fear, fly over

the blue yonder where
the sky meets the sea
and eye meets no eye
and boy meets world
and became a man to serve the world
to save the day, the night, and the girl too

If I recall correctly, the people on that planet never grew up... and they were stuck in some Beatnik time-warp. The music they danced to is a hoot to listen to now. That "generic" made-for-TV fake rock, electric organ plucky electric guitar just cracks me up. That's got to be one of my most favorites. (Well... that one, and the talking carrot episode too.)

Positively majestic. The only decent thing about that show.

Otherwise, it must be the Mod Squad.

Behold:

Jane, his wife.

That says everything you need to know about the dynamic of the lead characters. It's perfect.

Thank you for being a friend
Travel down the road and back again

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see
The biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
Thank you for being a friend

135. Mission Impossible's theme was good too - also Superman
or actually "The Adventures Of Superman", especially when it transitioned into:

"Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings at a single bound. Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird . . . it's a plane . . . it's Superman!"

And the music came up again:

"Yes, it's Superman - strange visitor from another planet who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Superman . . . who can change the course of mighty rivers; bend steel in his bare hands; and who, disguised as Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper, fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way."
