XM Radio - how do I get it and how much
is it going to cost me. My mom and I are tired of being tied to the computer to listen to AirAmerica.
I'd like to be able to listen in the house and the car.

Is it true that Sirius is now AirAmerica free?

1. Most of your big electronics stores carry it.
Also, try xmfan.com for the equipment. They usually ship pretty fast, and have great deals. Can't say for sure on the cost, as we got a bunch of discounts through my wife's workplace. I think it might be $12/month right now. Worth every penny, in my opinion.

2. Whatever you do, avoid the Delphi Roady.
Yes, at $99 it's a pretty good value, but I went through two of them because the antenna outputs always shorted out. I'd go with the SkyFi. It's a little more but worth it.

4. I'm planning on getting a SkyFi
And my dad has XM radio in his new car. I've been listening to it a lot to see which channels I like and dont like. So far, it seems that channel 51 (the jam band station) plays EVERYTHING that I like!

5. Hey, that's the PROGRESSIVE/JAM band station, thank you!
:) I like both, but I just wanted to be accurate. :)

6. I have the Roady2 plus home kit
So far, so good. Only thing that bothers me is the volume needs to be turned up more on some stations. But no service interruptions like I had with Sirius.

I've been satisfied, though XM 43 is pretty much the only station I go to for new and less heard music. Also, I'm very anxious for Malloy to come back to 10 PM - 1 AM.

3. I have XM, I love it
You can get it at Best Buy. And, you can carry it back and forth between your car and the house.

7. Here's my story ...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=109&topic_id=22846

I am VERY, VERY happy with the setup, which I can take from car to car. One end plugs into the cigarette lighter, I stash the unit in the glove compartment, and the antenna gets thrown up onto the dash. It does not move because I went and got a jell-pad, on which you can put things, and these things do not move.

And I get perfect reception in my house, with the XM home antenna, attached to my cradle for the unit and stereo. If you can get perfect sound in my house - you can get it anywhere.
