But...what if I do?

I have a tendency to over-pack.

:(

1. Remove 1 and pack the other 4
Then you have an extra one, should something happen to the other 3.

Enjoy yourself progmom! Wish I could be with you all. :-(

I'll be with you all in spirit!!! :grouphug:

:loveya:

11. No sweat about the music, the mail runs are slow any way, packages
take forever to be delivered. I appreciate that you have gathered some music for me.

Winston, my yorkie, was very shocky, they were trying to stablize him. He is just a tiny, happy little thing. I found him bloody in the street, the car that hit him kept going.

They did x-rays and his pelvis is fractured, they weren't sure about internal injuries cause the x-rays weren't the best, but they didn't want to redo them and hurt him more. He was in some terrible pain. It broke my heart.

They will keep him sedated and get him stablized and operate on him Monday to fix his pelvis. :scared:

Just keep us in your thoughts, this has knocked me down.

2. Saturday looks like great marching weather:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/weather/

Five pairs of comfortable, cotton-crotch panties might be nice. But only two black shirts are necessary.

I think I took 2-3 when I went to Chicago in June. I have an excessive amount of black t-shirts as well. I'm guessing you have quite a collection of music t- shirts...

41. oh, there was a great article in the NYT this am
in honor of his 93? birthday - and all these great shows in NYC with Reggie Workman and Andrew Cyrille! I love those guys! Best jazz show I ever saw here ( well other than the ARt Ensemble) was with just the two of them just trading off stuff. Incredible, wish I were in NYC this weekend. Maybe I should bug Chavez and Cassandra to go and get some vicarious thrills.

22. I always pack for 1 extra day
Because you never know what can happen.

My ex-wife, on the other hand, once went on a casual 5 day trip to the Caribbean and packed 7 pairs of shoes for those 5 days.

25. It could be worse
I once had a college roommate pack 6 bags when she was only going home for four days for Thanksgiving. Her father said this was a sign she didn't need anything for Christmas because she already had more than enough.

I usually pack one outfit per day, plus an unexpected weather outfit and a dressy outfit. Of course then there's shoes...I almost never travel with less than three pairs .

26. I'm the same way. More is better than less.
I'd do exactly the same thing. Take more than I actually need.

I'd just go ahead and take the 5 t-shirts. Better safe than sorry (but I'm not exactly sure what you'd need to be safe about concerning t-shirts. :-))

Have a great time in DC, progmom. I wish I could be there. :-(

36. My friends and I lost a car once
one of our friends left his car with us while he went back to his university course in France. It was parked outside for so long and then one day it was no longer there. I suppose theft is the most likely explanation, but this car was the biggest heap of shit on the street by a long way. Why anybody would want to steal it was beyond us. We almost feel they deserved it anyway, because it had long ago surpassed our skills to actually get the bloody thing started...

He was a very easy going chap. When he returned, the explanation went something like this:

"Where's my car?"

"We lost it, dude."

"You lost it?"

"Yup."

"Fair enough."
