Would a company hold a past drug test against you? |
I am inclined to say no, but I have an interview. It has been over a year since I applied and failed their drug test. I don't want to go into the detailed circumstances of the test, but I didn't have an offer and there may have been a medical reason that I failed. When I go in for the interview, should I pretend that I never interviewed there before? If I am interviewing with one or multiple people who I interviewed with the first time, what should I say if they remembered interviewing me? What should I say if directly confronted if they know why I didn't get hired the first time? Is this a medical issue that is none of their business? I have no reason to believe that I wouldn't pass this time. I will go get a test at the pharmacy to make sure. I will also disclose everything that I am taking upfront even if I don't have an offer. I have the same name and address. I also have the same resume. If they keep track of such things and would disqualify me based on last year, I would think that they would have done that. This is a larger company, but the department is relatively small.

1. I don't think they're allowed to |
but that won't stop them from finding some other reason to not hire you.
