I must admit I lied in the never voted for a republican thread |
|
But it was for a good cause.
I live in Michigan. In the 2000 election our then Gov Engler(R) had promised the primary to the Bush clan. Since in Michigan you don't have to be registered to one party or the other to vote in the primaries 1000s of Dems showed up at the polls and voted for McCain. The results were that George didn't get Michigan, Engler got egg on his face, and a grand time was had by all the dems standing in line together for the repug primaries(there were three groups of us when I voted).

As a gay man, in Southern Califonia.
I wanted tax cuts. Fuck equality. I can deal with being marginalized, as long as I got more money...
I never voted for a Dem before 2001, but will (and have) never vote GOP again, but still...
I think the federal marriage amendment egg is on my face, as my foreign national boyfriend cannot immigrate due to our evil and (obviously) immoral lifestyle.
Sorry. But I will add, the more I learn, the worse I feel.

I must admit I voted for Bill Milliken for governor every time I had the chance. John Fortunately, those Michiganians amongst us realize that that was hardly a sin. And I've NEVER voted for a Republican for any federal office. ON EDIT: Hi, Az -- how they hangin'?
