4. 12 days into the trial of a serial killer who confessed to the crime |
|
of murdering a 14 year old girl who had been missing 4 years, she is found alive and well(living with a guy), 1 mile from her mother's house.
This was in Australia.
More proof that we need to get rid of the death penalty.

7. Here comes a third.... |
|
The death penalty is what separates us from the more civilized country....
Isn;t it strange that those countries that are "closer" to god, such as Islamic Fundamentalist and Christian Nations, embrace death with such a giddy glee.....
Secular Humanists, well we just value life....

if you haven't already, "Death of Innocents" by Sister Helen Prejean. She is the author of Dead Man Walking.
this book chronicles the murder of two innocent men, sentenced for crimes they didn't commit, died for crimes they didn't commit.
it is a sad yet needed to be told story.

12. When I ran for state senate, I always turned off people when I said |
|
I was against the death penalty...
It is so out there, so removed from everyone's live that they think it is those people that will get the needle, not my kind...
And we all know who Those people are, don't we....
So I see this as a racial as well as economic crime against humanity as a whole.....
I would always get the but you are for murdering unborn children...
And to be honest with you, that argument was starting to take hold on me....
I was conflicted about taking the life of perhaps an innocent man and cutting off the life of an unborn child...
Until I came to the conclusion, and then expoused the opinion that better education, more economic opportunity and a better quality of life for all would surely cut down the crimes that cause the reactionary urge to kill criminals and the behavior and ignorance that results in many of the unwanted pregnancies.....
I guess that is why I was never elected... I think too much.... As a matter of fact, that is what one of the many advisers who walked away from me said as the door shut behind her....

Abolish the goddamned death penalty......
In prison for life...NO parole for the worst offenders....
IMHO, having the death penalty makes us as bad as the murderers.....
Just my opinion, however....

11. I know about her..and she is dynamite..... |
|
I might even have that book somewhere around here...
Unfortunately, our books aren't well organized....
When we moved in, the books went every which way, and when you have 1000plus, it can be a problem..
I will look...and if I don't find it, I'll buy it......
She is one hell of an author, I know this to be true.....
Thanks for the recommendation, BTW.....

14. The man featured was a child raper and killer. |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 09:55 AM by Beausoir
He admitted raping, torturing and killing several women. He lead authorities to their bodies, including the 9 year old girl, Kira, who he caught from behind as she was walking home from school, raped and killed by slashing her throat.
If he had done that to MY daughter, I would personally pull the switch on him.
To try and misrepresent that this man is somehow innocent in order to further a political agenda is wrong.
He raped, hung, tortured, and slashed several women to death. I won't waste one second of my life defending this animal's life.
