USC is already the National Champion |
|
They set aside their slow start against the Lame Ducks of Oregon and bulldozed them all to hell.
Forget the east coast... forget the midwest... forget the south... forget the northeast... Ground Zero for College Football Dominance is SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, baby!

1. They haven't played Cal yet. |
|
They play Cal at Berkeley this year.
Cal outplayed SC last year. Cal beat SC two years ago. And Cal could've won three years ago down in the Coliseum.
The Bears ain't scared. I'm not sure the'll beat the Trojans this year, but it'll be a game.

Grrrr.
Normally, I couldn't care less about how any Oregon sports things work out. Except whenever my alma mater is up against USC. A very mean girl I knew in high school ended up at SC and I used to take a very small joy in any losses its teams endured at the hands of UofO people. There. I said it. I don't think I've ever told anyone that before.

5. The PAC 10 is strong in CA |
|
UCLA is doing well - 3-0, and they will surprise a lot of people. U. of California is also hot...
USC is up against Notre Dame soon... which shows that their schedule's only real soft spot are the 2 WA teams.
Tennessee will take care of LSU Monday night. :P :hi:
Fuck the AP - they robbed the UW in '91 by making them SHARE the top ranking with Miami. :puke:

6. Eh..we'll see about the Vols....I'm apprehensive simply because..... |
|
...of the mental stress we've all been under down here as o'late and our new coach too...but still if USC had to face teams like the Gators...Crimson Tide...Vols...TIGERS..etc...week after week I seriously doubt they'd go undefeated in any season...just sayin'! :P

8. You have to give the Vols' coach credit |
|
He was the one who requested the Monday delay for the sake of the team and the fans located in TX, due to Rita and all. That was classy.
I am actually pulling for UCLA over USC when they meet. They are my preference of the 2, but it's all good. :D

....that's fuckin' blasphemy dammit!!!! :wow: Fix that typo mister or let's go outside and settle this once and for all!! :7
on edit...the Vols coach said they'd forfeit the game if they had to come play in a hurricane...instead LSU decided to change the game day to tomorrow...just to clarify! ;-)

Not in any an endorsement of that state or its schools. :-)
Still, offering to forfeit... that's a rare thing to do. I am glad LSU came up with the delay, at least that shows they wanted to play.

20. UT's coach is a cheating piece of shit. |
|
He forced Johnny Majors out by stabbing him in the back and is so quick to call the dogs on anyone else. Remember, who yells the loudest, usually is at fault too. And, that was the AD who did that, not Fulmer.

And I'm an SEC girl, through and through. But USC has such a fantastic program - and unlike most other teams that dominate like they do, they do it with class, IMHO.
I still wish Auburn could have had the shot at them in the national championship game last year. I have little doubt that USC would have still emerged the winner, but I don't believe they would have scored 55 points on the Tigers, not even close.
Go Trojans! USC is undeniably the best college football team in the country, and I love watching them!

Hope your love of Auburn doesn't keep you from giving this Vols fan a moonpie. :o

14. I like Tennessee, too! |
|
They are friendly rivals for Auburn. Though I have to confess, my favorite AU game of that perfect 13-0 season last year was the AU-TN game in Knoxville. Auburn just came at Tennessee with everything they had, every down of the game. It was a fantastic win - if you were a Tiger fan!
Don't hate me for that - I do really like UT. Great athletic programs in all sports, one of the more well-rounded schools in that department in the league!
One more confession - I'm loving Vanderbilt's Cinderella start this season. Even if they are your old interstate rivals, how can you not cheer for the Commodores this season?

If they can do that in the 4th quarter against OHIO then why can't they do that all the other Quarters?

17. That's what I was thinking..... Watching the game..... |
|
Ohio State is a balanced team...
I think the Buckeyes should have won that game except for two simple facts...
1) the pooch kick in the first half that gave Texas great feld position...
2) the unsolved Quarterback situation.....

Long before OJ's time, luckily.
I figured I'd mention why I am a booster for all things southern CA, partly because of my roots, and partly because of hers.
Of course, some folks are looking for motives which don't exist (like fair-weather fandom), or they come from dreary midwestern states, of which they have my insincere condolences. :P

Any team that has managed to win one national championship during the past three decades has proven its dominance.

Sports is unimportant, but fun, and my gloating is pure fun.
So it isn't weighty enough to merit a quote by Lincoln.
Of course, I see you hail from Wisconsin, which puts your comments in better context.

27. Well, I can't argue for my team, Penn State |
|
I think they're improved, but if Northwestern had any defense, they would have lost the game. Minnesota will be a very telling game.
So for me, it might as well be USC.
