RANT ALERT!!!!

You wanna ask...How much fucking money do you people need???? I understand the 'need' to keep performing and keeping your art alive, but when you SELL OUT to corporate America, as practically all of the sixties generation performers have done, I say fuck off. I hope your concerts are populated with a bunch of fucking yuppies who don't
get it. Don't come asking for a hundred fucking dollars for your ticket. Ask your corporate buddies, that's your audience now.

1. Don't forget the damned Eagles
I blame them for starting the over-priced trend. $80 for the cheap seats on their "Hell Freezes Over" or "damn, we snorted all our money already" tour.

Meanwhile, I can see a genuine icon, Ringo Starr and a bunch of other talented people for less than $30.00.

Wait a sec though, Led Zep isn't touring are they? Don't blame John Paul Jones for those other two jerk's greed.

3. Well, Paul McCartney sold out,
but I got my ticket before he did. :-)

Yeah, $100 is ridiculous, but that's what the big acts charge these days. I wish it wasn't so, but it's been edging upward steadily since the last time I bought a ticket (been comped for other shows since then, thank goodness), which was also for Sir Paul.

Here in Vegas you can see great acts, now lower on the food chain, at off-Strip venues for as low as $16 or so...people who had hits but who didn't maintain the momentum. I haven't yet gone to see any, mind you, and Sir Paul's concert is the only big-name show I'll see all year (which is why I don't so much mind the inflated price tag), but there are still decent deals around on tickets to good performers. On the other hand, it can cost you as much as $200 or more to go see Celine Dion's show or some other overblown piece of production-show junk on the Strip these days, so $100 for a veritable legend who is great as a live performer isn't looking so bad all of a sudden.

5. I'm seeing him tomorrow in Boston!
I just hope the tickets are genuine (bought off E-Bay).
I saw him in 93 at the Meadowlands stadium in NJ - the best frikkin' concert I have ever been to.

8. Amen!
I'm a major Jagger Junkie from ages ago and love Dylan but these guys have totally diappointed me.

This was a good commentary on the NPR show "MarketPlace" about The Stones and Ameriquest:

Sympathy For The Devil?
