Have you seen the show on FX "Over There"? |
|
I did for the first time last night. I thought it was a good show. Not a jingoistic cheerleading for war, but also not a lot of preaching about how wrong the war is either. I don't think it made the Iraq War look glamorous at all. Instead, I think it showed that the soldier's life is a hard, non-glamorous one, which often presents moral or ethical dilemmas that are often not applicable to civilian life. I think the show lets the viewer keep his or her views about the war intact. I plan to watch it again.

1. I was wondering how the show was |

When I first saw previews for it, I thought, "Great, another trumped up pro-war show." But I've heard it's actually not, which makes me want to see it now.

2. All we saw was the premiere episode |
|
The teasers seemed to imply we'd get to see Iraqi prisoners being tortured during interrogation in a ghost town turned makeshift jail. Not interested.
