I'm throwing in the towel on my "Greatest Regret" Girl.....
For those who don't know. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=3712911

Yup, it's been nearly two months since she got back to me. She said I'd be hearing from her again, but it never happened. I did send her a quick e-mail saying hi and that I was looking forward to hearing from her again and working stuff out, but that was over three weeks ago and went unanswered. I'll probably wait a few weeks, then maybe send her a quick note saying goodbye for good. Then I'm done. I just have to get on with it. I've lamented over her long enough, I regret my screwups and so on, but soon enough, I'll be moving out-of-state etc. I just would have like to have said an actual goodbye to her, but I cannot wait forever. Well, I could, but this is a pretty one-sided thing at this point. She not interested in anything at all, it looks like, not even a phone call to say hi or goodbye. So I guess I better not continue to get my hopes up for even that, and just move on. I have other women I am interested in as well, that I'm getting to know right now and all. She had her chance - many of them - so I am sad, but I do have other things and other women ahead of me.

1. Hey bro
I understand; move on w/ your life. You're in Tucson; I know for a fact there are some incredible women there waiting for a little of the Wetzel charm to come their way, so get to it:)

2. oh lord there sure are
I was talking to a young girl in my Health policy class about the Arabic-Israeli conflict, I was busting out all my knowledge on her then I stared directly into her eyes. I about forgot what the hell we were talking about, haha. She's a gorgeous little devil. Nice girl too. Maybe a tad young for me though.

But yeah, gotta get this one outta my head. I think I found her number on a phone search, and I'm tempted to try it, but I don't want to come off weird or anything. I just have always missed her and wished we could have straightened some things out. Some things just aren't in the cards.

So did you see Ken Kennedy beat Mysterio the other day? Good stuff!

3. I love that guy
he's the future of WWE if they don't sabatoge his push w/ some dumbass feud or if HHH decides he doesn't like him. He's got charisma up the wazoo..

6. He has a great finishing move
Yeah, he could definitely go places. No doubt.

I've become a hardcore Batista man lately. Love that guy! He's just a flat out animal. The New LOD are badass too. Heidenreich and Animal just mow down those scrubs they toss to them. They about kill people with the Doomsday Device. It's pretty awesome. Animal looks like he could bench press about half the world. That guy is a powerhouse.

12. have some fun with her
but, after my ex-wife filed for divorce, I had a lot of fun with younger women, as they aren't as concerned about having a serious relationship. (meaning, i was 33, 34 or so, and dating women in college)

After you have some fun, you'll be more ready for the right woman when she comes along.

4. You're doing the right thing, bill.
For your own health, moving on is the right thing to do after having given "Greatest Regret" woman a more than fair shot at the Bill Lottery.

5. Hey I gave it a shot
came up empty. She was worth a try though. Big problem is that I think I was worth a try too and she missed out on that. :)

Lottery? I think I'm more like one of those scratch things that you can instantly win about 50 bucks for, haha. Thanks a lot. You rock as usual. :)

7. working stuff out? What stuff?
I am not sure what the point is of a "good-bye for good" letter. Does that mean "I never want to see you again" or "I will never think about you again" or just "I am moving on". I think she expects that.

I had a curious experience yesterday in that regard. I had this girl that I met through Yahoo messenger. It seemed like we hit it off and I added her as a friend after our initial conversation. Per request I emailed her a picture, and we had a couple more decent IMs. On a side note, I have had three or four e-mail conversations that ended very abruptly when they got my picture. That seemed to happen here as I had two IM conversations that ended very abruptly with no response to my last message (and no explanation later). Of course, I knew she was busy, going to school and such, but to get blown off twice is a pretty clear message to me. So I quit trying to start conversations with her. This was in early september. Still, Yahoo told me when she was online and when she went off.

Then came the election. Election day was a long day of work for me, on very little sleep, and, as is well known, it ended horribly. Anyway, in the black mood following that day, I decided that I did not want her on my "friends" list. Only I could not take her off. The program would not let me. After about ten failed attempts, and no help from support, I solved the "problem" by removing the "messenger" program. And I never missed it.

Only two weeks ago, my hard-drive failed and had to be replaced, which meant re-installing all of my programs, including, somehow "messenger". And there she is, still on my "friends" list. Last night I was listening to Skid Row's "I remember you" when messenger announced that she was on-line. The irony of that was hilarious to me, so I thought I would share that with her, and we had another decent conversation. But I wonder if she had the unspoken question "where the heck have you been for a year?" She never did ask.

8. It is the right thing to do
and believe me, calling her or sending another email won't do YOU any good. I did it and never came out something good.

9. Howdy Bill
As you know I made the same decision a while back. It hurt for a while, but I got over it. I still think about her often, but it's over and I came to terms with that.

14. Good, you're now closer to the right person.
If there's one thing I've learned in the last few years (especially in the last few months) is that when two people are right for each other, communication isn't like pulling teeth. It's just a natural part of things willingly given by both parties.
