Help me brainstorm fundraising ideas? |
|
My 13-year-old daughter wants to go to D.C. on spring break and I also want her to have the opportunity. It is a school-sponsored trip. The trip costs just under $1,000. While we could afford to just pay the cost, I want her to have some ownership of the cost too. So, I'd like to present her with a list of 5-10 things that she could do to earn the cash.
So far I've come up with two:
1) Sell herself to 'close' friends and family for the day. (General cleaning & maintenance tasks, i.e., raking up the leaves, cleaning the gutters, babysitting)
2) Doing an original work and raffling it off. (She's been in art for 2 years now and she is quite gifted.)
Open to suggestions!

It will take her a looooonnnggg time to come up with that money doing chores. I think it gives kids a sense of how much things really cost.

You would pay her for the hours she racks up and it would give her some experience in volunteering. If there is an animal shelter near you maybe she could help walk the dogs, etc, or a nursing home whre she could visit with the residents.
Edit: can't spell, need more coffee :-)

Thank you! I know the local animal shelter is always on the look out for more volunteers to help walk, clean and brush. :)
