A great big ball of

ants.... imagine if you will, as told to me by a friend at work.

He said he was a fishing in the bayou.... in a boat... and a rather large ball of ants passed by (fire ants) and he said that as it floated it "rolled" so that the unfortunates could get a gulp of air... he curiously broke it open.... all of the eggs were inside, protected by the swarm on the outside.... anyone else ever seen such a spectacle???

Whoops... guess it's true... who told these critters that they could do this???? Amazing, simply amazing.

2. They've gotten me more times than I'd like to admit..... funny how

they climb up your pants... and then on cue, they all start biting at the same time... or stinging if you prefer.

I remember once cutting tall grass with a scythe in Biloxi and accidentally nicking a mound of theirs...nasty little things marched up the handle and started injecting my hands with their venom!

For fire ants the term "threat or menace" was made for...
