I just spent this evening picking up applications at various stores for a part-time job to supplement my current 50 hour a week job. I have a daughter in college, am a single parent and am trying not to have her leave school with the ungodly amount of student loan debt I had. Don't get me wrong, she works during school and all summer, but when room/board and tuition at a public university runs close to 18k a year, there's no way she can cover it all.

I remember sitting in a town hall meeting in west Columbus listening to John Kerry talk about education and tax credits for college. If only...
