2. But it's so #*^#! catchy!
And hey - does this mean if I bought the Gwen Stefani CD, Neil Finn would actually know my name and address? I've been trying to tell him for years, but then he got the restraining order....

if you have to pay your posse and tell them how to act, you're not cool.

17. Well, I pay my posse, but not very much.
And they only have to follow me around from 11-3 Mondays and Wednesdays. I tried to negotiate some Saturday time, but with posses, it's all about the benjamins.

7. Actually, I can probably get someone to burn this for me.
That's right, I'd listen to the music without even looking at her picture.

You're just goofy and not musically sophisticated.

As for musical sophistication, I like ABBA, and you don't get much more sophisticated than that. :P

And then I'm making Sony buy me a new one!

11. Believe it or not, I'm so out of it, so unhip,
that I just heard this song for the first time one month ago. Nobody can explain to me what a 'hollaback girl' is, even my girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter.

Ugh, I swear it's easily one of the most annoying songs ever recorded.

Besides the Celine Dion love song from the Titanic movie.

13. It's a pretty good album.
Not as much actual singing as I might like, but I thought it was worth the $12.99 CDN.

The last CDs I have bought have been by like... Jethro Tull and Charlie Parker... But the Gwen Stefani album and the new Kanye West are really tempting me.

29. Oh no.....she remade "Rich Girl"....the old reggae song??
by Louchie Lou and Michie One

"If I was a rich girl, nana nana nana nananana
I'd have all the money in the world
if I was a wealthy girl."

That's a fucking classic, and I bet she didn't even use the Fever Pitch riddim.

I'm going to have to check that out, because there's just some songs you shouldn't remake.

31. That's the song
She did a good job, I thought. The Gwen version has what seems like a million writers, including Chantal Kreviazuk, (was surprised to see her on this one,) so I bet there was some touching up of the song.

My favorites on the CD are "Cool," "Bubble Pop Electric," "Harajuku Girls," and "Crash."

Ok, granted I'm gay but would enjoy getting into Gwen's panties... but really! You want good Gwen? Go back to No Doubt. Return of Saturn.

Sheesh! Boy! I'm beginning to question SarahBelle's taste in men!

:P

Seriously, music is subjective. That can't be repeated enough here in the Lounge sometimes. Of course, some music is more complex than other music, but I'd take Gwen over Xiu Xiu.

36. It's not that I don't like Gwen...
I just hate her solo stuff. No Doubt has some great stuff out. "Tragic Kingdom" was one of my favourite albums during the mid-90s. I had hoped that her solo album would at least be decent.

I like her No Doubt stuff too, but it is not a LOT better IMO. Like an A, A- vs. a B+.

39. Personally, I'd give the solo album a C+ at the very best
Some catchy songs, but after two or three listens I'm Jack Torrance and wherever I am becomes The Overlook hotel...so to speak, haha.

But like you said, it's subjective.
